Lafayette County
Originally an area rich in lead mining, today’s Lafayette County offers unparalleled opportunities for history, scenic beauty, and outdoor activities. Predominantly a rural retreat, the county is also dotted with numerous small town communities offering unique shopping and dining experiences.
Among the many highlights visitors enjoy are mining history, golf, ATV trails, small town historic shopping districts, and Yellowstone Lake State Park.
Of course no visit to the Hidden Valleys area is complete without a sampling of the local tastes. Lafayette County is home to a number of factories offering specialty varieties of award winning cheese.
