Welcome to the Great River Road, designated one of America's Scenic Byways.
The 250 mile length of the Wisconsin Corridor, from Kieler to Prescott, invites the traveler to embark on a two-day road trip.

To make the journey "traveler friendly," simply follow the white signs displaying a green pilot's wheel with the words "Great River Road," and which also bears the familiar red, white, and blue pennant with a white star to indicate a Scenic Byway.

Most round barns built in the Midwest were constructed between 1890 and 1930 primarily as dairy barns.
Driving tour information on these barns can be found at our local museums, Chamber offices and online.
“Cheyenne Valley Heritage Road Tour” guides and the book “Barns Without Corners, Round Barns of Vernon County” by Kevin and Patsy Alderson take you on a grand journey of the barns.
If you are lucky you will drive by one just by chance! Please remember these are private properties and we appreciate the owners that are taking great care of these treasures!
